Mathematics and physics are closely connected disciplines in higher education. Physics relies heavily on mathematical concepts, formulas, calculations, and analytical reasoning to explain natural phenomena. This study investigates the impact of mathematical skills on physics learning among university students. The research explores how mathematical competence influences students’ understanding of physics concepts, problem-solving ability, academic performance, and confidence in learning physics. A quantitative research approach was adopted using survey questionnaires and academic performance analysis among undergraduate university students. The findings reveal that students with stronger mathematical backgrounds perform significantly better in physics courses. Mathematical reasoning, algebraic manipulation, calculus knowledge, and graphical interpretation were identified as major factors contributing to success in physics education. The study recommends strengthening mathematical preparation in early university education to improve physics learning outcomes
